Aurora BAKER is a two-dimensional artist working in acrylics, pencils, and pen and ink. Aurora obtained a degree in Art History in 1999 from The University of Arizona. Aurora has a keen eye for historical techniques and has continually experimented with new techniques and new approaches in her own work. Besides her work in her studio, Aurora’s techniques have been displayed on stage: she has been the scenic artist for many theatre productions. While her work for the Theatre serves to bring a playwright’s vision to life, in the studio it’s her own vision, her own language that she seeks to bring to life. Her work is known for its often subtle juxtaposition of organic and geometric forms, unconventional use of iconography and an impeccable sense of color.
